Surprises & Wonder: Megan Bogonovich

Megan Bogonovich says she tells stories in her ceramic sculptures, tales of “unusual growths, curious routes, unlikely pairings, strange predicaments, surprises and wonder, comfort in the unlikely.”

“My sculptures combine naturalistic and abstracted imagery to suggest the possibility of the real and the imagined cohabitating, a whimsical reality.  Unusual growths, curious routes, unlikely pairings, strange predicaments, surprises and wonder, and comfort in the unlikely.”-Megan Bogonovich

Bogonovich, a Master of Fine Arts, is based in Concord, New Hampshire, and shows widely, including the International exhibit “Fragiles” organized by Die Gestalten Verlag. (Her studio, below.  Her website, here)

There are… unique. I don’t think I could live with them in my flat (they’d creep me out after sundown), but I do appreciate the imagination and the creative use of ceramics! Very interesting!

I know what you mean about some of them having a “creepy” factor. Like you said, though, the imagination and creativity is so amazing. For me, it overcomes any mild discomfort. And a lot of her work is just plain whimsical and entertaining. Thanks for taking the time to comment and visit.
