Jennifer Collier: Paper Goods

British artist Jennifer Collier  remakes household objects in unusual paper fabrics constructed by bonding, waxing, trapping and stitching.

 -Letter Dress, 50 x 50cm

“The papers are treated as if cloth, with the main technique employed being stitch; a contemporary twist on traditional textiles,” Collier says.

“The papers themselves serve as both the inspiration and the media for my work, with the narrative of the books and papers suggesting the forms.”

Collier exhibits frequently, runs artist workshops and is recognized for works that focus on recycling as well as themes exploring the body.

        She is!
        You are welcome.
What I would love to see from her would be a jewelry line.
Imagine laminated/waxed paper cut out locks on neckchains or even a finely woven paper braid.
Her brooches would also be just amazing.
Or even just the household items made in mini.
A pair of the baby shoes that can be worn as earrings?
Makes me just want to get a credit card under Jed’s name.
