La Wilson’s art draws the eye to the many ordinary, tiny objects we need to function but don’t really pay attention to: buttons, pencils, corks, belt buckles, batteries, car keys and clothespins, to name a few. Wilson assembles her constructions by trial and error, using objects that appeal to her, accumulated at places like flea markets and antique shops. See more on the video below, and on the website of the John Davis Gallery, which represents her.

I was scrolling down, loving the images, luscious and full of texture and wondering who the talented hipster was…. so happily surprised to see her! Ha – I must examine my age-ist attitude… and I’m 55!!! She is awesome!
I did exactly the same thing when I ran across the works and was considering a post. Isn’t she great?
Oh, just wonderful!
Really glad you enjoyed!
La Wilson is one of my favorite artists in the world. Ever. Her wok has made every day of my life more interesting and beautiful.
Wow, that’s true love! Thank you.
